Why do we need to avoid smoking and drinking?

Once upon a time, in a land filled with sparkling rivers and candy-colored trees, lived a little bouncy ball named Pip. Pip loved to explore! He bounced over rainbow bridges, zoomed down giggling streams, and tumbled through fields of fluffy, marshmallow clouds. He had two best friends: a bright red kite named Zoom and a shiny, silver top named Whirl.
One day, Pip, Zoom, and Whirl were playing near a mysterious, dark cave. A grumpy-looking shadow lurked near the entrance, puffing out strange, smoky clouds that smelled like burnt toast and old socks.
"What's that?" Pip asked, bouncing cautiously.
"That's Smog," Zoom whispered, his voice trembling a little. "He's… well, he's not very nice. He makes everything feel sluggish and yucky."
Whirl, who was always a bit braver, spun closer to the cave. "He says he drinks something sparkly and strong that makes him feel powerful, but he's always coughing and sneezing."
Pip watched, fascinated but worried. Smog coughed, a rattling sound like pebbles tumbling down a hill. He then took a long drag from a shiny bottle filled with a dark, bubbling liquid. He looked stronger at first, his movements jerky and uncontrolled, like a puppet with tangled strings. Then, his movements slowed and he started to cough even more violently.
"Look how wobbly he is!" Pip exclaimed, his bouncy hops slowing down. "He can barely stand!"
Zoom explained, "Smog drinks something called 'fizz-pop juice' and inhales 'smoky puff'. Fizz-pop juice makes your body fuzzy and wobbly, like you've bounced too much and are suddenly too tired to move. Smoky puff makes your lungs feel like they're filled with cotton wool, making it hard to breathe and run and play."
"But why would anyone drink fizz-pop juice or inhale smoky puff if it makes them feel so bad?" Pip asked, his little ball body deflating a bit.
Whirl, always the wise one, spun thoughtfully. "It's because Smog thinks it makes him feel strong and grown-up. But it’s a trick! It doesn't actually make him strong; it just makes him feel powerful for a little while before making him feel much worse."
Suddenly, a cheerful voice called out, "Hello there!"
A sparkling, bright sunbeam named Sunny appeared, radiating warmth and light. Sunny was known throughout the land for her healthy glow and boundless energy. She bounced happily, her laughter echoing through the candy-colored trees.
"I heard you were talking about Smog," Sunny said. "He's mistaken! True strength comes from being healthy and strong, just like you three!"
Sunny explained that our bodies are amazing machines, like incredibly bouncy, super-fast, whirly-gigging bouncy balls, kites that soar high, and tops that spin endlessly! To keep these machines running smoothly, we need to fuel them with healthy foods like delicious fruits, crunchy vegetables, and warm, comforting soups. These foods give us energy to bounce, fly, and spin with joy.
"Fizz-pop juice and smoky puff are like putting dirty oil in your machine," Sunny continued. "They don't help it run better; they make it break down. They damage the wonderful parts inside, making it hard to play and have fun. They even make your bouncy ball body, your kite strings and your spinning top's axis feel dull and heavy."
Sunny showed them a picture of a healthy lung, bright pink and full of air, like a perfectly inflated bouncy ball. Then she showed them a picture of a lung affected by smoky puff, grey and shriveled, unable to bounce or breathe easily. The difference was stark and clear, even to Pip.
"See?" Sunny said. "Your body needs clean, fresh air to bounce and play. Smoky puff fills your lungs with nasty stuff, making it hard to breathe and play all day long." She then showed a picture of a healthy heart and a heart affected by excessive fizz-pop juice, showing how weak and poorly functioning it became.
"And fizz-pop juice," Sunny continued, "it messes with your body's control panel. It makes you feel dizzy and wobbly, just like Smog. It's like your bouncy ball body, kite strings, and your spinning top's axis getting all tangled and confused!"
Pip, Zoom, and Whirl understood. They realized that true strength comes from being healthy, happy, and full of energy. They knew that avoiding fizz-pop juice and smoky puff was the best way to keep their amazing bodies running smoothly and to keep bouncing, flying, and spinning for years and years to come. They waved goodbye to Sunny, promising to never go near Smog's dark cave again and to always choose healthy, bouncy fun. From that day on, they were even more enthusiastic about their healthy, bouncy, soaring, spinning adventures, never forgetting the lesson learned near the dark cave. And they knew that being healthy and strong was the most super-duper fun of all!
